Welcome to Lauren & Ollie's vision of the future pub - filled with flavour, music, art, independence, sustainability, local business, community focus, heritage, and evolving passion.
Madly passionate about life... anything from finding the best flavoured tomato to the best sounding folk band, Lauren and Ollie love real sensations and feelings. Hence why they have started something as important as a Village Pub - a communal hub for all sorts of people, a place where no hierarchy exists, only good energy.
Lauren is a singer/songwriter and Ollie is a chef/artist, both have their own websites which you can visit here: www.laurenbransby.co.uk and www.30food.co.uk.
The award-winning pub (Most Sustainable Business) serves organic dishes made with locally sourced and homegrown ingredients, in their inviting dog-friendly pub.
Herbs and fruit are homegrown in the pub's beautiful garden. Roses can be turned into rose jam, sage into fresh pasta, chives into an emulsion with fish, pears into a tarte tatin with clotted cream. You can't get much fresher than that.
“Most Sustainable Business” of the Year
The team are justifiably super proud to have been awarded the “Most Sustainable Business” of the year from the SRA (Sustainable Restaurant Association).
The Wheatsheaf has been awarded 3 star certificate by the Soil Association for sourcing the organic produce on the menu. Unfortunately, the Soil Association can’t include all the organic produce they use, they actually use closer to 80% organic food and drink. Which means you can eat drink and have a great time, all while saving the bees by choosing organic!
