Henry & Joe. Two local lads, with a shared passion and vision.

The cooking is clever and unpretentious, and the service is warm and friendly. They want dining in their informal setting to be a truly memorable experience.

What started as a shared dream discussed at length over coffee and cigarettes in a shed at the Royal Oak in Yattendon, has now become reality.

After refining their craft, spending years in back street pubs working their way up to Michelin star restaurants - the two lads opened Henry & Joe's at 17 Cheap Street, Newbury, in November 2017 and have been blessed by the continuing support of Newbury since.

Being two lads who have grown up in this town, they’re proud to be part of the social fabric that makes up this wonderfully diverse community.

Any and all are welcome at Henry & Joe's. The lads pride themselves on delivering top quality, inspired and refined dining, accompanied by service to put customers at ease and to feel like they're at home.  

Henry continues to create delicious, imaginative menus. But being on his own, has had to restrict the number he can cater for to 40.
